The second warning from the DA crew came at the water stop - apparently a local mayor had decided to remove all of the orange markers for our route from his town. Now I know we were issued with maps but firstly you have to be able to read one - then its a good ideal to hold it the right way up - but as a collective group of 20+ riders we all got it wrong & cycled approx. 4 miles in the wrong direction. Not to worry lets put it down to experience & move on.Having picked up the route we were treated too some fantastic cycling & French countryside. Picture 1 is Mike & Picture 2 is a DA sign tantalizing telling us that lunch is just 5 miles away.
