Mike was feeling a bit better & decided to start the ride this morning - if things got any worse he still had the option to climb into the van.After completing two tough days of 100 & 97 miles over some pretty taxing hills I think the flatter terrain today would give us all a boost & everyone seemed to be smiling. So after breakfast & with the sun shining we climbed out of Lisieux & into the open french countryside - today would be a good day.
The french countryside is littered with cottages or Gites [Photo 1] but we were going too fast to photograph them so you will have to take my word for it that it was picture postage stuff. We stopped briefly to speak to a few locals [Photo 2] who didn't have a lot to say - I didn't realize the french were so hairy!
